Hermes Agent Plugin
StructKit has an external Hermes Agent plugin that exposes StructKit commands as native Hermes tools. This lets Hermes inspect available structures, validate YAML files, preview generated files with dry runs, and generate project scaffolds from StructKit templates.
Install
You need both StructKit and Hermes Agent installed. Install the plugin into Hermes with:
hermes plugins install httpdss/hermes-plugin-structkitThe plugin shells out to the StructKit CLI, so structkit must be available on your PATH. Common install options:
uv tool install structkitpipx install structkitAvailable tools
structkit_list
List available StructKit structures/templates.
structkit_info
Inspect a structure/template definition.
structkit_vars
Show required variables for a structure.
structkit_validate
Validate a StructKit YAML file.
structkit_preview
Dry-run generation and show a diff.
structkit_generate
Generate files, requiring explicit write confirmation.
Basic usage
Example prompts you can type into Hermes:
List the available StructKit templates.Show me the variables required for the python-api template.Preview generating the python-api template into ./demo-app with app_name set to demo-app.Validate ./my-structure.structkit.yaml.Generate the python-api template into ./demo-app with app_name set to demo-app.Previews are dry runs and do not modify files. Generation requires explicit confirmation through the plugin's confirm_write safety flag.
Safety model
- Preview/dry-run operations are safe and non-mutating.
- File generation requires explicit confirmation.
- The plugin supports output directory controls.
- Network access for remote StructKit content can be disabled when needed.
- Hooks and remote content should be reviewed before generating in sensitive directories.
